GALLERY IV - THE VIETNAMESE
This
gallery focuses on the life and culture of the Vietnamese people,
primarily in the South, as well as the other nationalities that inhabited
the country. Visitors will be presented with a typical street scene
that could be Saigon, Hue, Da Nang, or any urban area in South Vietnam
to see how the people lived and worked.
All
aspects of the culture will be explored, including religion, history,
food, and family life. A typical open-air market scene will contribute
to an understanding of the nature of everyday life, and images of farming,
fishing, and manufacturing will add to that picture.
Artifacts
in this gallery will be designed to immerse the visitor in the Vietnamese
culture with authentic dress, sounds, and smells commensurate with the
period and scene.
