Congressman
Sam Johnson (R-TX) joins the museum Board of Visitors
The
National Vietnam War Museum is pleased to announce that Congressman
Sam Johnson (R-TX) has joined the museum Board of Visitors. Congressman
Johnson, a 29-year US Air Force veteran, and Vietnam POW, is the highest-ranking
Texan on both the Ways & Means Committee and the Committee on Education
and the Workforce.
Congressman
Johnson is a graduate of SMU, and served as a fighter pilot in both
Korea and Vietnam, and also flew with the Air Force Thunderbirds precision
flying team. As a decorated war hero, and one of the few members of
Congress who has actually served in combat, Congressman Johnson also
serves as an informal advisor on military readiness issues.
Congressman
Johnson, who grew up in Dallas, has represented the people of Texas
third district since 1991 and is married to the Former Shirley L. Melton
of Dallas.
The
National Vietnam War Museum welcomes Congressman Johnson to the Board
of Visitors and is looking forward to a long and mutually supportive
relationship.
