The National Vietnam War Museum is hosting the Sons & Daughters of the Vietnam War to encourage interest in establishing a formal organization for descendants of Vietnam War Veterans.
The museum is looking for volunteers to establish the organization, Sons and Daughters of the Vietnam War. We will provide fiscal sponsorship for this new organization at least until it is organized so that all donations will be tax deductible. We anticipate the group being a separate 501(c)3 corporation, but will let the organization determine that.
The museum board and staff will serve as a steering committee for the new group. We will collect contact information for volunteers and donations. You may want to volunteer help, or funding, or both. We need your name and email address, at a minimum, so that we can provide commuication among the volunteers. You may use the form at the bottom of this page to let us know you are interested.
The mission of the Sons and Daughters of the Vietnam War is to serve as a historical, patriotic, and non-political organization dedicated to ensuring that a factual history of the Vietnam Era is documented, preserved, and shared.
Membership will have two categories:
- Lineal - Descendant of a Veteran of the Vietnam War who served honorably. Proof is required.
- Associate - Anyone who has interest in the organization's mission.
More membership categories may be added as the organization is formed. It is assumed that The Sons and Daughters of the Vietnam War will work closely with The National Vietnam War Museum in order to keep a consistent message to the public.
